Pool Design Software and 3D Renderings, Explained
A rendering is a communication tool, not a guarantee, and knowing the difference saves a disagreement later. The Woodlands Township Covenants require Design Review Committee approval for pool and backyard construction in nearly every village, and that review covers fencing, setbacks, and drainage as well as the pool itself.

What Renderings Get Right
Modern pool design software accurately represents shape, rough proportions, feature placement, and general materials/color, which makes it genuinely useful for confirming a design direction before construction starts, far better than a flat 2D drawing for most homeowners to visualize.
What They Can't Promise
Exact lighting conditions, water color under real sun versus rendered light, and precise material texture can all look different in person than in a rendering; renderings are a planning tool for layout and scope, not a photorealistic guarantee of the finished product's exact appearance.
