What to Ask During a Pool Site Evaluation
Part 1 of 10: Pool Ownership 101
A site evaluation goes faster and produces a better design when the homeowner comes with questions too, not just answers. The Woodlands Township Covenants require Design Review Committee approval for pool and backyard construction in nearly every village, and that review covers fencing, setbacks, and drainage as well as the pool itself.

Questions About the Lot Itself
Ask what the soil report process looks like for your specific property, how drainage will be handled relative to the house foundation, and whether any existing trees, utilities, or easements constrain where the pool can go.
Questions About the Process
Ask what happens to the timeline if permitting or HOA review takes longer than expected, how change orders are handled if the design shifts after the site visit, and who the single point of contact is throughout construction, the kind of question that surfaces whether "single-builder accountability" is real or just a phrase.
Where This Fits
See our Gunite Pools service page, or Financing if cost is the next question.
